This past quarter has been a transformative time for our equine therapy program. Building on our partnership with Niños Con Autismo, we are thrilled to announce new collaborations with Centro de Rehabilitación Integral de San Miguel de Allende (CRISMA), Patronato Pro Niños, and the special needs school Centro de Atención Múltiple Ignacio Ramírez Educación Especial. Through these partnerships, we are receiving referrals and providing equine-assisted therapy to children with autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy.
The progress we are seeing after just a few sessions is nothing short of remarkable. Currently, 33 children are actively participating in our program, with a waiting list of more than 50 children eager to join. Additionally, we are referring families to these incredible organizations, which provide complementary therapies to further support the children’s development.
Our recent relocation to Rancho Ortega has been a game-changer. This beautiful, tranquil setting offers us the space and resources to accommodate our growing program. The ranch features a shaded arena for working with children on horseback, expansive pastures where our therapy horses can roam freely, and spacious stalls to ensure their wellbeing.
We are fortunate to have three incredible therapy horses: Napoleon, Silver, and Nena. Their gentle, calm demeanor has made them favorites among the children and volunteers alike.
Conveniently located just five minutes from Luciérnaga Mall on the road to Alcocer, Rancho Ortega is also accessible via a bus route with a stop right at the ranch’s gate.
Thanks to the overwhelming success of our Dolly Parton/Rhinestone Cowboy Extravaganza fundraiser last October, we’ve been able to enhance our infrastructure to better serve children with physical disabilities, especially those with cerebral palsy. One key addition is a new, program-exclusive bathroom to ensure comfort and accessibility for all participants.
Our mission is to create an outstanding program that prioritizes safety, therapeutic breakthroughs, and continuous education for our team. We are grateful for the support that allows us to continue this important work and expand our impact in the community.
